Do you feel dissatisfied with your university, academic environment, professors and instructors, fellow students, or the opportunities your university offers?

You’re not the only one expecting more from the most dynamic years of your life.

We know the feeling! We regularly receive questions on this subject from our users all over the world. It can be pretty painful to realize that you could spend the next few years doing something you don’t like. That is why we decided to share some things you can do if you’re not happy at your current university.

We understand your decision to leave your initial university can upset your parents, because your attendance represents a large investment of time and money. For that reason, we’ll concentrate on options that involve scholarships or other ways to cover the cost of your studies.

Transfer to Minerva Schools at KGI

Imagine studying in seven different locations with some of the brightest students and educators from all over the world. You will have the opportunity to live and study in all these cities: San Francisco, Seoul, Hyderabad, Berlin, Buenos Aires, London, and Taipei.

Student Experience team members in each city curate unique, location-specific opportunities for students to expand their classroom learning through partnerships and projects with key organizations and influencers in each city. This global immersion component is a critical element of Minerva’s program, offering a unique opportunity to acquire critical cultural awareness and understanding.

In addition, Minerva Schools offers something you will not find anywhere else: the Active Learning Forum, which allows you to attend classes from any location with a broadband internet connection. The Forum facilitates an engaging learning experience centred on lively discussion and debate while professors provide personalized feedback to each student to improve learning.

Meet the Minerva Schools! Minerva is an innovative global undergraduate program started by former Harvard University dean, Stephen Kosslyn.

Minerva Schools at KGI is an accredited university program that prepares world-class students to develop innovative solutions for complex global problems, by allowing students to explore the world while receiving a rigorous and accessible education.

You can become one of Minerva’s students! The last decision deadline closes on the 15th of March, and the process is simpler than traditional colleges.

There is no application fee required to apply, and Minerva does not ask for standardized test scores.

Even if you currently study at another university, you can transfer credits from courses you already completed and become a student at the most innovative, truly global university. More info can be found here.

For example, Rory and Sichen both started their studies at universities most people would consider “dream schools.” Very soon, they realised they wanted more out of the most dynamic time of their life — they wanted truly global education with real practical knowledge. For that reason, both of them decided to transfer to the Minerva Schools.

More info about transfer options to Minerva can be found here.

The Minerva Schools offer financial aid as well, so you should definitely apply even if you think you cannot afford to attend.

Transfer to the University of Tokyo

This second option is perfect for someone about to complete their second year of undergraduate studies, and thinking about transferring to finish their studies elsewhere. This opportunity allows you to do this on a full scholarship at the University of Tokyo!

You pick up where you left off at your current school, pass your remaining exams in Japan, and receive a degree from the most famous university in Asia (and one of the top 20 universities in the world!).

Transfer to any other university you wish

This third option is trickier, but it is possible.

Make a list of all the universities you would like to transfer to and check if they offer transfer scholarships. Many U.S.-based universities offer transfer scholarships that basically allow you to do the same thing as the first two options.

If you do not find a transfer scholarship, you can be admitted to study at your dream university and fundraise the costs to attend. Here is a full fundraising guide.

Access dozens of thousands of scholarships available all over the world!

There are literally dozens of thousands of scholarships out there!
